ROCKY COAST RADIO THEATRE,
under the direction of founder, William Dufris (the voice of Bob in Nickelodeon
Jr’s popular children’s show, Bob The Builder), returns to the stage
once again for its Halloween production, Nightmares On Congress Street, Part
III. Performing live at The Schoolhouse Arts Center
at Sebago Lake, it’s an event filled with Tricks and
Treats for the entire family, and boasts the vocal talent of Eileen
Avery, Paul Drinan, William Dufris, Deborah Hall, Claudia Hughes, David LaGraffe,
Tom Power, and Christopher Price, with live musical accompaniment by Rhonda
Carlson and live foley... just like the olden golden days of radio!
The assortment of chilling and thrilling tales include: THE WIND
by Ray Bradbury, in which an adventurous explorer makes a terrifying discovery
that unleashes a powerful force bent upon destroying him; DEATH KNOCKS
by Woody Allen, featuring the most frightening figure from the human imagination,
the Grim Reaper himself - who is persuaded into playing a game of gin rummy
for the life of his appointed ‘client’, Nat Ackerman; and W. W. Jacobs’ KEEPING
UP APPEARANCES, in which spirits and intemperance don’t mix!
Also, this year, RCRT has the distinct pleasure and honor of performing not
one, not two, but three original audio plays. In ONE BAD TURN DESERVES
ANOTHER by Clay T. Graybeal (RCRT’s resident playwright),
an habitually speeding driver finds himself trapped in a twilight zone of
highway hell; then in THE LIBRARIAN by Rhonda Carlson (RCRT’s
composer), midnight mayhem ensues among the stacks; and finally there’s a
nod and a wink extended to Orson Welles with THE HORROR FROM WALKER
POINT by Anthony Marino, in which Portland finds itself overrun by
a plague of flesh-eating zombies... produced in bloodcurdling HorrorScope!
(There’s even a special cameo voiceover with Keith Shortall.)
So be sure to join in the fun at The Schoolhouse Arts Center, Rte. 114 at
