“I should have taken that cabana in Atlanta Beach,” is Walter Hollander’s lament in Don’t Drink The Water. Woody Allen’s farce about the cold war is fast paced with one liners as the Hollanders seek refuge in an American embassy somewhere behind the iron curtain. Love blossoms and antics abound as the Hollanders drive everyone, from the chef to a sultan, crazy as they move from one absurd situation to another in their efforts to survive their vacation.
Directed by Tom Scannell, Don’t Drink the Water opens January 26 at the Schoolhouse Arts Center at Sebago Lake. The cast includes John Mosey of Sanford as Walter Hollander, Jennifer Diekema of Baldwin as Marion Hollander, T.J. Scannell of Steep Falls as Axel Magee, Joe Mellone of Gorham as Burns, and local talent in supporting roles. Join in the fun and take a winter break as the Hollanders take a vacation.
Show times are Friday nights 7pm for an hors d’oeuvres reception
before show-time, Saturday nights 8:00pm, and Sunday afternoons 2:00pm.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students
plus $4 for the hors d’oeuvres reception on Fridays.
