Classic Broadway is back with "Crazy For You", a wild musical packed with Gershwin tunes and spectacular dance numbers, tapping its way into your heart at the Schoolhouse Arts Center July 5 - 22, 2001. With her customary brilliance, director Deb Doherty breathes new life into classics like "I Got Rhythm", "Embraceable You", "Shall We Dance?", and "Someone to Watch Over Me", and the sparkling choreography by Deb Lombard is sure have everyone's toes tapping down the aisle. This family musical mixes a stage-struck New York banker/ playboy, the fiesty postmistress of a Nevada ghost town, cowboys, chorus girls, and a breakneck romantic comedy plot that is sure to keep things jumping to the very end.

The tuxedo set is played to the nines by Ryan McNally of Limington as Bobby Child, Heather O'Donnell of Sebago as his mother, and Kristen Messana of Gorham as Bobby's fiance, Irene. The tumbleweed townspeople are played by local wranglers Kim Lemieux of Standish as Polly, Mike Foster of Steep Falls as Everett, her father, and TJ Scannell of Steep Falls as Lank, the nefarious saloon owner.

Flashing dazzling smiles and considerable leg as the chorus girls of the Zangler Follies are Karen Bagley, Meg Doherty-Scannell, Nicole Gribbin, Rosie Schoneburg, Caryn Blanchard, Crystal Collins and Amanda Fickett. Colin Kelly of Limington keeps the girls in line as the impresario Bela Zangler, who has special steps in mind for tough Tess, played by Meg Doherty-Scannell of Steep Falls.

Into this mix wander the Fodors, a British couple writing a travel guide of the wild west, played with a "Stiff Upper Lip" by Jon Messana of Hollis and Tara Cloutier of Standish. With action ricocheting from New York stages to Nevada saloons, this roller- coaster romantic tale comes complete with mistaken identities, disguises, show-stopping production numbers and a happy ending, all to the incomparable music of the Gershwin brothers. "Who could ask for anything more?"
